Participating in the Wednesday conversations feels like a compassionate companioning on the shared journey of being human. I am incredibly grateful to be with a group of individuals whohave a longing for this type of shared-reality community
Yvette is an amazing teacher. Her classes are loaded with fun, deep wisdom, and practical steps for dealing with relational challenges in the moment. I highly recommend them
The Wednesday calls have meant so much to me. I found new insights, a sense of community and belonging, and a checkpoint in my week to help me stay grounded and choiceful
Yvette creates an atmosphere of experimentation and mutual learning that has helped me understand the human condition. I’ve gained strategies to tame my inner jerk and allow empathy to build heart-to-heart connections

What is the purpose and intention of the Wednesday meetings?
To provide inspiration, encouragement, and support on your personal development journeys by providing conceptual clarity and opportunity for meaningful human connection.
This is a psycho-educational learning forum with a strong focus on information, understanding, strategies and clarity.
It is not an emotional processing group, a despair work group, an NVC group, an empathy group, or a therapy group.
You’ll get an opportunity to ask questions and receive input and advice as we unpack or reframe sticky interpersonal situations in people’s lives. You’re also welcome to just listen and take it all in without actively speaking at all.
Is this a Nonviolent Communication (NVC) group?
No. Conversations from the Heart is not offered as a training in NVC, per se, nor does it focus on the “correct” application of NVC tools.
I am not a certified trainer of NVC and if your interest is in learning precise and pure Nonviolent Communication I recommend you seek out one of the many highly qualified Nonviolent Commincation Trainers you can find here.
My work and style is deeply aligned with the consciousness of NVC and has a broader, playful focus on the personal growth that both transcends and includes the practices of NVC.
Our scope of exploration includes broader principles of nonviolence, compassion, and mindfulness, as well as insights from relational and integral psychology and spiral dynamics.
I draw from whatever resources seem relevant or useful to the moment, such as archetypes, shadow work, and polarity theory, as well as the work of Marshall Rosenberg, Carl Rogers, bell hooks, Brene Brown, Terry Real, Diane Musho Hamilton, Ken Wilbur and many more.
How does the meeting work?
This 90-minute Zoom meeting begins with a general welcome and then moves into breakout sessions that allow you to check in with others on the call.
You can opt out of the breakout session and use that time for self-connection and journaling. The group comes together again for the remainder of the time, during which you’ll have opportunities to ask questions and explore how various concepts might help you unpack or reframe sticky interpersonal situations in your life.
Please note that a lightly edited section of the call after breakout rooms is uploaded into a podcast format to facilitate ease of listening and re-listening for those who want access to replays.
As a practicing, licensed psychologist, I facilitate the meetings and respond to your questions, drawing from my extensive training in mind-body medicine, somatic experiencing, diversity and inclusiveness, nonviolent communication, and integral-relational-cultural psychology.
I encourage a variety of voices to be heard, and you’re welcome to contribute to the discussion or just listen and take it all in.
This meeting is offered remotely through Zoom, and participants from around the world come together to engage with a thriving community of individuals looking to enrich their personal development journeys.
